Curiosity and Playfulness!
Learning by listening, to us, involves so much more than just ‘listening.’ We need to be present, aware, empathetic, reflective and especially curious about trying different possibilities. We need to consider and reflect on what we are doing and maybe more importantly, WHY we are doing something with our horses. Then we need to be able to put ourselves ‘in their hooves’ and feel how it is for them - this gives us more chances to find ways that are outside of what’s considered ‘normal’. The ‘feel of learning by listening’ is newness, curiosity, playfulness, testing, feedback, fulfillment, non-expectation and freedom, just to name a few!
